Like any other languages, Urdu language and literature has also played pivotal roles in fighting against various social ills and evils. Needless to say,  Urdu has got a distinct identity for fighting against social injustices and protecting the human rights. The Urdu language is better known as a language of Indian freedom struggle. From Munshi Premchand to Ashfaqullah Khan, the doyens of Urdu language have used the Urdu as a tool for   
maintaining communal harmony and peace, fighting social injustice and promoting universal brotherhood.
